Introduce

Haiyun Convent had another name called the large soil Buddhist nunnery, established in the Ming Dynasty, had already had a history of more than 500 years so far, destroyed in the Culture Revolution. This Buddhist nunnery was classified as the Key Cultural Relic Unit under State Protection of Qingdao in December of 1982. It is carry forward on cultures national, district people’s government, under the energetical support of various circles of society, extend Haiyun Convent as 162 square meters at present by original 112 square meters. Started building in July of 1990, completed in September of 1991, became the venue for religious activities formally in September of 1994.
